Alright, so, I wanted to make a character sheet for Skrrpt the Archaeopteryx. My character sheets are pretty dull, so I wanted to try something completely different.
I really like how *mirroreyesserval's latest sheet came out ([link]) so I wanted to try something like it. But, seeing as how Skrrpt is pretty much just an Archaeopteryx in a guira cuckoo's skin, I didn't have any cool things to add to the sheet like Tiina had...and I'm not as talented as her. So, I decided, "Hey! I really like Audubon's prints ([link]), maybe I could do something like that!" (Which, in all honesty, is something I've been wanting to do with dinosaurs in general; Audubon-like prints of them, but in my own style.)
I'm surprisingly pleased with how this turned out, but then again, I love working with my markers. So, there you have it, little Skrrpts hanging out in a gingko tree. One is irritated, one has a NOM, and the other is preening.
I also goofed on the preening Archaeopteryx's hand. The feathers are supposed to be attached to the second digit, but how I rendered them makes it look like they aren't. They are! I just didn't do a great job showing that.
I added a Step-by-Step of this piece so people can see how I do marker work:
Prismacolor Markers and Micron Pen on Bristol

Also, for another Audubon-like print of creatures you aren't likely to encounter in your travels, check out *Bailiwick's piece "Natural Gryphon Print", which I adore:

AAAAH GUIRA CUCKOO INSPIRATION, I LOVE IT. ♥
My favorite birds because of how prehistoric they look, tiny fluffy little poofballs. Beautiful. I want to give gentle headpats.
